Railway section blown up in Dagestan
Unidentified criminals have undermined a section of the railway track in the Kizlyar District of Dagestan; and then shelled the unit of the militia and interior troops, which guarded the railway line, injuring one soldier.
"At 3:36 a.m. Moscow time, unidentified persons blew up a railway track in the section Switching Track-17 - Kizlyar, immediately after passage of the passenger train Astrakhan-Makhachkala," the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan report.
About three meters of the track were blown up; several concrete sleepers were damaged. Train traffic was stopped. In particular, the Makhachkala-Moscow passenger train and a freight train were stopped.
Shortly after the explosion, a militia patrol detected a group of strangers near the railroad, who opened fire. In the skirmish a militiaman was wounded, but the attackers managed to escape, the Radio Liberty reports.
The explosion caused no casualties and victims. "Most probably, the self-made bomb was triggered by means of a remote pendant or a car alarm system," the RIA "Dagestan" quotes its source.
