Soldier suspected of killing his four colleagues arrested in Nagorno-Karabakh

One of the four soldiers, who were wounded in the incident in the Gadrut unit of the Nagorno-Karabakh Army - Manvel Azroyan - has been charged of murder one or more persons. His arrest was chosen as a freedom restriction measure, reports the Investigatory Service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia.

Currently, the wounded Azroyan is taking his treatment and rehabilitation at a military hospital in Stepanakert, where the soldier is under guard. In recent days, his health condition has sharply worsened.

According to the above Investigatory Service, serviceman Manvel Azroyan was charged under three articles: Part 2, Article 104 (murder of one or more persons), Point 1, Part 2, Article 34 (attempted murder of one or more persons) and Part 1, Article 365 (violation of the order of military service), of the Criminal Code. Azroyan pled guilty and is now under arrest.

Let us remind you that on November 23 the Armenian newspaper "Aikakan Zhamanak" published a version that Manvel Azroyan was the main culprit in the tragedy in the Nagorno-Karabakh Army, who opened fire at his seven comrades-in-arms, then tried to commit suicide but survived. According to the paper, Azroyan was hazed and bullied by other soldiers.
