Issa Khashagulgov's advocates insist on his innocence

At the session of the Lefortovo District Court held on November 23 on selection of the further freedom restriction measure for Issa Khashagulgov, suspected of organizing the terror act in Vladikavkaz, extension of his custody was defined well in advance, his advocates assert.

As earlier reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on November 23, the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow held a session to decide on the further freedom restriction measure for Issa Khashagulgov, a suspect of organizing the September terror act in Vladikavkaz. The judge decided to satisfy inspectors' petition to extend his custody till February 25, 2011.

"The fact that the court has extended his custody, while possessing no proofs of Issa's guilt, is quite within the spirit of today's Russian justice," lawyer Musa Pliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Issa Khashagulgov is unlawfully detained; the firearms and ammunition, which was found on him, had been planted, Mr Pliev asserts.

Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush human rights activist, who is present at the trial, believes that the actions of the court were completely ungrounded but expected.

"All the same, they'll give him 20-25 years. The judge didn't let Issa tell how everything really was. She had non need of his story; she just wanted to hear from him what she needed. It's just a show," the human rights activist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The inspector and prosecutor refused to provide their comments to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

A source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that most probably Issa's case was fabricated because of the rights-defence activities of the Khashagulgov family.
