Dagestan: relatives of assassinated Abusupyanov say that he was shadowed
Magomed Magomedov, a resident of the village of Chernyaevka, Kizlyar District of Dagestan, said that his cousin Sheikhulislam Abusupyanov, who was considered missing since November 18 and was found assassinated two days later, had been shadowed by unknown persons.
"One day before his disappearance, Sheikhulislam telephoned me to say that he was shadowed by some people in an Audi car. He made another call of the same sort on the day of his disappearance," Magomed told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on November 22.
He added that Sheikhulislam Abusupyanov was tortured to death. "All my brother's body was in huge bruises, his back had signs of massive cuts down to bones; his nails were separated from fingers; he was shot at eight times. The shots were made from close distance; and a control shot in the head was made," said Magomedov.
Magomed Magomedov believes that power agents may be involved in the incident. "One of the militiamen said that in the building of the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division) a detainee was kept, who looked like my brother; however, other militiamen denied this fact. Sheikhulislam was registered by the militia as a follower of the Salafi current of Islam. He was repeatedly summoned to the militia without explanations of the reasons. To avoid all sorts of excesses with the militia, for the last year he lived in Makhachkala. He came to Chernyaevka with the aim to make documents for the BTI (Bureau for Technical Inventory) on a newly built house. He went to Kizlyar and disappeared," he said.
The press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Kizlyar ROVD keep stating that they have no information about the incident.
