North-Caucasian MIA opens telephone helpline
The Chief Department of the MIA in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has organized the work of the telephone "trust line" to be used by citizens to report information about prepared or committed crimes, as reported by Vladislav Prokofiev, head of the department of records and regime of the above Department.
The phone works in real time; and all the data recorded by voice mail during the day will be studied by senior staff on a daily basis, the "Interfax" reports.
According to Mr Prokofiev, the helpline is intended "to collect serious information related to corruption, embezzlement of huge sums of money and combating extremism and organized crime," the "Yuga.ru" portal writes.
The caller shall introduce him/herself and give coordinates; however, anonymous information of operative character will also be taken into consideration.
