Rostov-on-Don: today, cigarettes can be exchanged for milk cocktails
Today, on the World Day of Quitting Smoking, in Rostov-on-Don, activists of youth organizations will offer students of universities and broad public to exchange cigarettes for milk cocktails.
As reported at the youth department of the administration of Rostov-on-Don, on this day mobile groups for exchanging tobacco products for dairy ones will work near major universities and in the most crowded places in the city.
In the course of the exchange actions activists will hold talks with young townspeople about the harm of smoking. All the gathered cigarettes will be publicly liquidated under the wheels of a quad-cycle at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Philology and Journalism Department of the Southern federal University (SFU) (150 Pushkinskaya Street), the website of the "Don-TR" Company reports.
The action will take place also during the "large break" at the Rostov University, the newspaper "Arguments and Facts" adds.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September-October 2008, within celebrations of the Day of Kuban Family and the World Heart Day, the action "Quit smoking! Save your heart for the family!" was held in the Krasnodar Territory. Smokers are invited to change "A cigarette for a sweet!"
In 2002, the Law of the Russian Federation "On Restriction of Tobacco Smoking" came into force; it prohibits sale of tobacco products to persons under 18, as well as sale of cigarettes by one. However, the enforcement of this law leaves much to be desired over the entire territory of Russia.
