Young men detained at car market in Chechnya released

The two young men, who were beaten and detained on November 14 by power agents in the automotive market in the town of Urus-Martan, were later released, according to one of the eyewitnesses of the incident, through intervention of other power agents-acquaintances. Law enforcement bodies assert that they have no information about the incident.

"These guys were later released because some acquaintances stood up for them; they were also in uniform and looked like employees of the militia or some other power agency. The guys had to take the tinting film, which had in fact provoked the conflict, away from their car glasses. It also seemed that both the guys and the militiamen who had beaten them abandoned any claims against each other," Adlan Sh., a resident of Urus-Martan, said.

A source from law enforcement bodies of the republic told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they received no citizens' applications or complaints concerning illegal actions in the automotive market of Urus-Martan, moreover, about any beatings there.
