Militia prevents mass brawl in Stavropol

The GUVD (Chief Interior Department) for the Stavropol Territory reports about suppression of a mass brawl in Stavropol that was near to burst out between groups of recruited builders from Turkmenistan and Armenia.

The reason was an everyday quarrel that occurred in one of the construction sites of the city of Stavropol. According to militiamen, the migrant builders were trying to define their qualification level and find out who is better in construction work.

The conflict continued at the entrances to the city, where about 60 persons from both parties gathered in a predefined location. Militiamen received prompt operative data information about the upcoming fight, and timely arrived at the venue.

As a result, 27 persons were detained and brought to the local OVD (Interior Division) for identification and administrative punishment. A prophylactic talk was held with them; and a criminal case was opened on the fact of hooliganism, which became the cause of the conflict, under Article 213 of the Criminal Code (disorderly conduct).

During inspection of the venue, a shotgun and two knives were found in one of the cars. This fact is investigated, as the GUVD for the Stavropol Territory reports on its website.
