"Voice of Beslan" protests against deprivation of Kesaeva's brother of driver's license
Members of the "Voice of Beslan" Committee blocked themselves in the courtroom in Beslan in response to decision of Judge Tsallaev to deprive Alan Tagaev, a victim of the terror act in Beslan in September 2004 and brother of Ella Kesaeva, the leader of the Committee, of his driver's license for 18 months.
Tagaev is accused of driving his car under intoxication; and when militiamen stopped him, he refused to pass medical examination. He asserts that he was sober, and after refusing to pass examination, he went to Vladikavkaz, where he passed it. The analysis showed that Tagaev was sober, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Ella Kesaeva believes that the trial was fabricated and points out that there were no witnesses and no traffic militiamen who had stopped her brother. The judge dismissed all the petitions, asking to summon the witnesses and militiamen. She also noted that his brother's car was used by activists of her organization to hold their protest actions. In her opinion, Alan Tagaev was punished deliberately, with the aim to hamper the "Voice of Beslan" in organizing their pickets.
