Residents of Chechnya report that power agents beat two men for tinted car glasses

On November 14, in the car market located in the outskirts of Urus-Martan, a district capital, local militiamen opened fire and beat two young men, who later were detained and taken away to some unknown place. This was reported by local residents, who added that tinted car glasses were the reason of the incident. Power agents refrain from comments.

"Yesterday in the afternoon, I was in the car market in Urus-Martan with my friend. Some power agents in camouflage arrived there in two UAZ vans and began walking along rows of cars, checking the tint. They ordered one guy to immediately remove the tinting film; he answered that he was not the owner of the car, and the owner would soon come. Then one of the militiamen suddenly hit the guy in the face; a fight burst out, and several militiamen rushed to beat the guy," Salman I., an eyewitness of the incident, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his version, soon after the start of the fight the car owner came, who tried to stop it, but he was also attacked and beaten by several agents. "When people came running to the noise, several militiamen opened fire from their machineguns into the air and shouted that nobody should come close. The power agents behaved just hatefully and disgustingly: some 10-12 militiamen were beating those two guys, while the rest of them did not allow anyone to approach. Then, they took the guys away with them," said the source.

It was not possible to get any official comments on the yesterday's incident in Urus-Martan from law enforcement agencies.
