Mayor of Dagestanskie Ogni apologizes for beating "Chernovik" journalist by his staff

Galim Galimov, Mayor of the city named Dagestanskie Ogni has apologized to Magomed Khanmagomedov, a correspondent of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Blueprint), for the incident on November 9, when employees of the city Mayoralty attacked the journalist in the building of the city administration. According to Galimov, he was not aware of what was happening.

"After the incident I visited Mayor Galimov, and he expressed his apologises to me for the behaviour of his subordinates," Magomed Khanmagomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He said that, as it turned out later, he was beaten by the bodyguard and the driver of the head of the city. After the incident Khanmagomedov filed an application to the militia. After he came - together with militiamen - to the city administration, the persons who had beaten him told the militiamen that "Khanmagomedov behaved rudely and defiantly."

"So far, the attackers themselves have not apologized to me," said Magomed Khanmagomedov. "If they do it, then, I'll recall my application from the militia; and the conflict may be settled."

According to the journalist, his physical condition at present is normal and does not cause any concern.
