Criminal case against militiamen who suppressed brawl with Chechens considered in Moscow
Today, on November 9, the Tushino District Court of Moscow started considering the criminal case against four militiamen of OVD (Interior Divisions) "Mitino" accused of exceeding their powers and applying violence to a state official. We remind you that the militiamen tried to suppress an ethnic brawl in a Moscow cafe.
"The prospects of the accusation are vague. We'll prove to the court that the defendants acted lawfully," said Dmitri Bakarev, the defendants' advocate. In accordance with the position of the defence, no harm was caused to any of the victims, while one of the accused militiamen received brain concussion, the "Interfax" reports.
Besides, according to advocates, the instigators of the fight in the cafe "Oscar" (in particular, a nephew of Senator Aslanbek Aslakhanov), were not criminally prosecuted, the "Pravo.ru" reports.
Let us remind you that, as earlier reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on January 24, 2009, four employees of the OVD "Mitino" detained participants of the fight near the restaurant in Baryshikha Street in Moscow. Among the detainees was Mansur Aslakhanov, an operative agent of the Criminal Search of the UVD of the North-West District of Moscow and a nephew of the Senator of the Council of the Federation of the Omsk Region Aslambek Aslakhanov.
