Magomed Khanmagomedov, journalist of "Chernovik", beaten up in Dagestan
An assault on Magomed Khanmagomedov, journalist of "Chernovik" ("Draft") weekly who had come at the Mayor's appointment was committed today in the office of municipal administration of the town of Dagestanskiye Ogni.
Magomed Khanmagomedov himself told a reporter of "Caucasian Knot" that the initiative of the appointment had belonged to Galim Galimov, Head of the town of Dagestanskiye Ogni.
"I entered the reception and introduced myself to the secretary. She said the Mayor was receiving a visitor and asked me to wait a little", Magomed Khanmagomedov says.
At this moment, according to the journalist, a young man came up to him and asked: "Who are you and what do you want here?".
"I answered that I had come to an appointment with the Mayor and asked him to be more polite, - the journalist tells his story. - Then another man entered, snatched me by the neck and started dragging me to the corridor where he made several strikes at me by his leg".
Magomed Khanmagomedov remarked that judging by the free and easy behaviour of these people in the office of the municipal administration, they were most probably officials of the municipality or servicemen of the Mayor's guard.
The journalist declared that he was going to submit a statement on the incident to law enforcement bodies.
Representatives of the administration of the town of Dagestanskiye Ogni turned out inaccessible for comments.
