Sochi residents are offered to get fingerprinted

The bosses of Sochi UVD (Interior Department) have urged citizens to pass a voluntary fingerprint registration.

They believe that archiving fingerprints of incapable citizens will exclude machinations with their property and personal documents; while fingerprinting children may prevent kidnapping them for trafficking abroad, the source named "Zhivaya Kuban" reports.

The obtained fingerprints will be used in creating the centralized database of Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Every citizen, who has undergone such registration, may any time apply for destruction of his/her fingerprints, the "Interfax" reports.
