Part of Dagestani pilgrims will not be able to go to Hajj this year

As reported on October 29 by President of Dagestan Magomedsalam Magomedov at the regular session of the Republic's Parliament, it would not be possible to send all the wishing local Moslems to the Hajj.

The situation is worse this year, as in the past Dagestani pilgrims could make use of unclaimed quotas of other regions; however, this year all Russian subjects will fully take their quotas.

"Some tension is felt in the republic with this year's departure of pilgrims to the Hajj. Our quota is not enough," said Magomedov.

Given the situation, he called Dagestanis "to exercise prudence and patience" and assured that the republic's leaders continue working towards maximizing the quota, the "Interfax" reports.

President Magomedov sent a letter to the King of Saudi Arabia asking for additional 3000 permits for Dagestani pilgrims. However, there are still 6000 believers beyond the quota willing to make the Hajj, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
