Refugees and street traders rally in Tbilisi
Two protesting groups at a time - refugees and street traders - are holding their actions near the building of Tbilisi City Council. The former group is demanding solution of their housing problems, while the latter one protests against the ban on street trading.
The protesters want the City Council to consider their problems. The group of refugees insists that the residential facilities allocated for them in Western Georgia are unfit for dwelling. They demand housing from the Tbilisi dwelling fund, the "Georgia Today" reports.
Trading in Tbilisi streets was banned on August 10. However, according to traders themselves, the places in the city marketplaces, offered to them instead of their former work places are too expensive, and often very unfavourably located.
The action continues throughout the sitting of the Sakrebulo (City Council). The opposition activists have assured the protesters that they would seek inclusion of their issues into the agenda, the "News-Georgia" reports.
