A Committee of European Parliament approved the agreement on simplification of visa system with Georgia

At its session on October, 27, the European Committee of Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs approved an agreement between European Union and Georgia on simplification of the procedure of issuing visas for the citizens of the republic signed by the parties on June, 17.

"Caucasian Knot" has already reported that according to the document signed on June, 17, it would become easier for a number of categories of Georgian citizens to receive the Shengen visa.

According to a representative of European Parliament, the document will now be submitted for approval at the Plenary session of the Assembly in Brussels on November, 1.

In accordance with the agreement, the dues connected with consideration of the requests for getting a visa for all the Georgian citizens will be reduced from 60 to 35 euros.

Besides, the decision on issuance of the visa must be taken within ten calendar days from the moment of submission the respective request and mandatory documents. However, the term of issuing the visa may be prolonged up to thirty calendar days or in some cases reduced to two.

The Committee of Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs of European Parliament has also approved an agreement on re-admission which will be submitted for confirmation by the Assembly on November, 1, too, "Novosti-Georgia" reports.
