A Fund of persons desiring to return to Abkhazia established in Georgia
Georgian Ministry of Justice has registered a Fund of persons desiring to return to Abkhazia.
The mission of the Fund has been declared as rehabilitation of trust and reconciliation with the Abkhazians, active use of people's diplomacy and involvement the refugees from Abkhazia in this process.
The Fund will closely collaborate with the Ministry of Refugees' Affairs and implement various economic projects together with it.
A Council of Georgian Elders has also been established within the Fund and well-known public figures have become members of it. Oleg Jolia, native of Abkhazia, was elected Chairman of the Fund, "Our Abkhazia" reports.
It should be reminded that there are currently over 293 thousand inwardly relocated persons in Georgia who have had to leave Abkhazia and South Osetia as a result of armed confrontations and separation of these republics.
