Dagestani project of water purification gets Grand Prix of British Invention Show
At the recent British Invention Show, the innovation project of the Dagestani State Agricultural Academy (DSACA) "Water Purification Complex and Technology for Water Purification from Arsenic" received main awards - the Platinum Grand Prix, Gold Medal and Honorary Diploma.
The "Caucasian Knot" was told by Zaidin Dzhambulatov, Rector of the DSACA, this innovation project had previously been highly praised by experts at the International Salon of Inventions, Researches and Technology Transfer "INVENTICA 2010".
"The complex for water purification from arsenic was so interesting for the jury members - prominent British scientists and businessmen, - that instead of usual 5-7 minutes allocated for a project they studied the Academy's innovation for more than half an hour. The water treatment plant had interested participants from Ceylon, Cambodia, Malaysia, where they have poor infrastructure and real problems of water quality," said the Rector.
Now, a prototype of the plant, designed in Dagestan, for water purification from arsenic is being tested. According to Rector Dzhambulatov, the test results exceeded all expectations. The commercial operation of new plants will eliminate the potable water quality problems for hundreds of thousands of people, the project authors assert.
