United Armenian opposition holds rally
On October 15, in Yerevan, in front of the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran a rally was held by the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) against corrupt power structures.
The first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan spoke to the rally. "The intentionally distorted economic system of Armenia is fully adapted to corruption, that is, to ruthless plundering of the country," he said.
The event was also attended by Aram Sarkisyan, leader of the Party "Republic", Stepan Demirchyan, head of the People's Party of Armenia, Gagik Dzhangiryan, former military public prosecutor, and other ANC members, the "News-Armenia" writes.
On October 19, the Forum of the Council of Europe (CE) "For Future of Democracy" with participation of CE leaders will start its work in Yerevan. On this day, starting from midday for 6 hours the opposition will be holding a picket in front of the government's house of receptions, where the forum will be held, the "Armenia Today" reports.
