Zviad Gamsakhurdia's son plans to run for Georgian presidency

Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, an MP and son of the first Georgian president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, has announced his decision to participate in the 2013 upcoming presidential election.

According to the MP, who also heads the "Freedom" opposition party, he will take part in the presidential election, "because the election will be held on the basis of the new Constitution," which he would support.

Mr Gamsakhurdia did not vote on the new draft constitution in the first and second readings and explained the reason that he had not yet decided on his future plans, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
