The All-Russian population census in Chechnya is going on under an intensified guard

Population census in Chechnya as well as in all the rest regions of Russia has started today. Law enforcement agencies of the republic will remain on an intensified watch regime until the end of the census.

"The census will be carried out by 5285 census takers who have undergone the respective training. According to preliminary data, about 400 yards will fall on each census taker", a reporter of "Caucasian Knot" was told in the republican Committee of State Statistics.

An official of the Committee also said that 868 census, instructor's and accounting areas have been established in the territory of the republic within the framework of preparation for the All-Russian population census.

A representative of the Ministry of Interior affairs of the republic said that all the census areas in the territory of the republic had been taken under a 24-hour's guard. "The law enforcement bodies of the republic will be working in an intensified watch regime during the whole period of the census which is being held from October, 14, to October, 25. Over three thousand militiamen and about three thousand serviceman will be providing security of the census campaign", the officer of the Ministry of Interior affairs said.
