Stavropol Region starts campaigning for exit from NCFD
Residents of the Stavropol Region, who are bagging subscriptions since October 10 for the Region's exit from the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), assert that after unification with the North-Caucasian republics the region faced increased criminality, terror acts and ethnic conflicts.
In the opinion of the authors of the petition, the situation in the region "may result in even greater exodus of Russian and other Christian population out of the Stavropol Territory." At this background, the document urges Russian leaders to return the Stavropol Territory back into the Southern Federal District (SFD) and to take steps "to reduce the migratory burden on the region" in order to "reduce the migration of local population" outside the Territory.
The text of the appeal is published on the website "Sborgolosov.ru", where the signing-in process has been organized. From October 10, 2300 persons have signed-in.
