Dagestani Jamaat "Guraba" confesses of blowing Irganai HPP
A grouping of Dagestani militants who call themselves Jamaat "Guraba", took responsibility for the explosion triggered on September 7 at the Irganai Hydraulic Power Plant (HPP) in the Untsukul District of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 7, at about 10:40 p.m. Moscow time, a small explosion was heard at the Irganai HPP, followed by cable ignition. The subsequent fire was extinguished by firemen by the morning. Nobody suffered in the incident; and on the following day a homemade bomb was found under one of 16-ton oil vessels; it was successfully defused by FSB sappers, who used a robotized hydrodynamic destroyer.
The statement of Jamaat "Guraba" about the diversion act at the Irganai HPP, published on October 4 on the website of this grouping, explained that the attack was made with the aim to "punish the impious people."
The authors of the statement assert that nine homemade bombs had been planted at the HPP; some of them are still there undetected. All the bombs were connected to clockwork and were to blow up together. All of them were planted there by one person.
