Large-scale special operation against militants is on in Chechnya

The large-scale actions aimed to find members of the armed underground unleashed in late September in the foothill and mountain regions of Chechnya continue, but so far, despite involvement of huge forces, they gave no feasible results.

Only during the first three days of operations, as a result of the armed clashes with militants in the Vedeno District,  more than ten power agents were lost and wounded. There is no data on casualties among the members of the armed underground.

"Special units of power agencies are raiding the territories in the mountain woodlands almost daily; they use the technique of ambushes and blocks along and across possible militants' routes. At the moment, these activities have yielded no essential results," a source from local power agencies told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, search of militants is complicated by adverse weather conditions and a number of other objective reasons.
