Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reports a suicide of a soldier detained in Armenia

On October, 5, Manvel Saribekian, Armenian soldier detained on September, 11, in Azerbaijan committed a suicide, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reports. People in Armenia do not believe in the suicide version.

According to joint report of the Ministry of Defense and Military prosecutor's office of Azerbaijan, Saribekian detained in the North-Western front section together with several other Armenian soldiers put an end of his life on October, 5, at 03:00 local time.

The personnel of Military prosecutor's office and military medical experts with the participation of witnesses carried out an inspection of the scene of the accident and outward examination of Saribekian's corpse. It was established that the Armenian soldier had hung himself. Medicolegal investigation found no signs of violence on Saribekian's body, "Novosti-Azerbaijan" agency reports.

Armenian Ministry of defense, in its turn, has put the blame for the Armenian citizen's death on Azerbaijan. The Ministry refers to a video diffused over the Web in which the young Armenian said he had been specially trained for committing an act of terror in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of defense emphasizes that in becomes quite clear from this video that the young man had been tortured.

Press service of the office also stated Armenian party had formerly explained that the young man had been an ordinary herdsman who having lost his way crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijan border, "Novosti-Armenia" agency reports.

It should also be mentioned that after detention of Saribekian and several other Armenian soldiers Azerbaijan reported suppression of a diversion attempt.
