Deputy of district Sakrebulo in Georgia detained for extortion
The personnel of Department of constitutional security of Georgian Ministry of Interior affairs detained Amiran Skhiereli, deputy of Sakrebulo of On district (Racha Lechkhumi region of Western Georgia) on accusation of extortion of a large sum of money, Soso Topuridze, Deputy Manager of Department of constitutional security reported.
According to Soso Topuridze, the detained man was accused of extortion of 70 thousand dollars. He had demanded this sum from an entrepreneur for providing him with a license on mining in a deposit in On district.
In case of corroboration of his guilt the detained man can be sentenced to a 9 years term of imprisonment, "Novosti-Georgia" reports.
