Powerful bomb found in Semender, where operation was conducted
Power agents, who made additional examination of the area in Semender settlement, located in Makhachkala outskirt, where a special operation was conducted on September 29, detected a powerful explosive device, together with components for making bombs and ammunition. This was reported by the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The self-made explosive device consisted of a metal pipe 350 mm long and 160 mm in diameter, stuffed with a mixture of ammonium nitrate and aluminium powder and striking elements in the form of nuts and bolts; it had a control unit on the basis of a "Tomahawk" car alarm system. The power of the bomb was about 6 kilos of TNT (trotyl equivalent).
They also found an F-1 grenade without a fuse, electric detonators, 20 5.45-mm rounds, 35 9-mm rounds, 4 kilograms of aluminium powder and ammonium nitrate each, 20 kilos of striking elements and two metal pipes in the place of the special operation.
The stuff was liquidated by explosion, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
