Court extends custody of Ingush native accused of aircraft hijacking attempt
The court has ruled to keep Magomed Patiev, a native of Ingushetia, accused of trying to hijack a Tu-154 aircraft at Domodedovo Airport in late July this year, said Tatiana Morozova, spokesperson of the Moscow Interregional Investigatory Department for Transports.
According to her story, Patiev's detention was extended for another month, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Earlier, the court rejected petitions of Patiev's advocate who asked to elect a more lenient preventive measure for his client. According to the advocate, the investigation, when petitioning his arrest, did not provide any data that Patiev was going to disappear, put pressure on trial parties or threaten the victims.
In her turn, the representative of the prosecutor's office treated the arrest lawful and justified. The appellate panel upheld her arguments and decided not to overrule the Meschanskiy Court of Moscow.
