Customs officers in Astrakhan will be brought before the court for accusation of contraband
Eleven employees of the Astrakhan customs, four people from the broker's company "Rostech-Astrakhan" and two entrepreneurs will be brought before the court for accusation of contraband as members of an organized group.
The customs officers are being accused of exceeding their authority which has caused grave damage and the brokers and entrepreneurs are accused of complicity in perpetration of the above mentioned crimes.
It is reported on the web-site of the Committee of inquiry under Public prosecutor's office of Russia that Igor Okhanov, chief of the department of Krasnoyarsk customs post, had organized a group of contrabandists, among them the officers of the post, two entrepreneurs and four employees of broker's company "Rostech-Astrakhan" including Ildar Duysenbiev, its head, who is also a deputy in one of the municipalities.
According to the investigation's version, in 2009 the criminal group managed to transfer by contraband an amount of goods of total cost over 200 million rubles and the sum of their illegal money compensation came to about 38 million rubles.
"The criminal case study shows that the accused had illegally collected 21 thousand rubles per each cargo customs declaration containing unauthentic data on the goods being transferred abroad. They had had five to forty of such declarations a day", RIA "Novosti" quotes the explanation of Vladimir Markin, a representative of Prosecutor's committee of inquiry of Russia.
