Krasnodar: entrepreneurs of LLC "Promavtomatika Invest" face trial

In Krasnodar, at the trial of entrepreneurs Sergey Kolesnikov and Evgeniy Konovalov, accused of misappropriation and embezzlement of a large sum of money belonging to the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Promavtomatika Invest", Judge Roman Shakitsko from the Lenin District Court of Krasnodar removed rights defender Tatiana Rudakova away from the session, because she had explained the rights of defendants' advocates.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that the public who gathered in the corridor of the courthouse aiming to attend the open trial was not let to the courtroom.

According to the investigation, in 2007-2008, Kolesnikov and Konovalov embezzled 13 million roubles from one LLC, and then dispose of the money at their own discretion. However, their relatives assert that the criminal case is a mere falsification from beginning to end with the aim of a grouping of raiders who have seized the LLC "Promavtomatika Invest" to hide the traces of their frauds.

Thus, in their opinion, the crime was backed by other people who should be thoroughly checked. The relatives argue that the "Promavtomatika Invest" is by 50 percent owned by one of the defendants; and he had no reason to steal money from his own enterprise.

On September 19 in Krasnodar, activists of the local branch of the public movement "White Tape" and of the inter-regional public organization "Mothers in Defence of Rights of Detainees, Defendants and Convicts" held a picket in defence of Article 19 of the Russian Constitution, which proclaims the equality of all citizens before the court and law.

The activists held posters in support of Sergey Kolesnikov and Evgeniy Konovalov who are kept behind bars at the SIZO (pre-trial prison).
