Action of protest of refugees "I am starving" held in Georgia
On September, 28, "Ara" movement and a civic movement of refugees in Georgia held a warning action near the mayor's office. Its participants called for the authorities to meet their obligations undertaken before international organizations, in particular, to create a database of unemployed and homeless people and provide them with job and dwelling.
Levan Chitadze, representative of "Ara" movement, said: "Mikhail Saakashvili and Vera Kobalya have received this commission both from UN and EU but no such base has been complied as yet. Therefore meeting the demands of these categories of persons is impossible. For this reason we are starting collecting the lists of such people by ourselves and are going to submit rather a solid list both to the mayor's office and the Parliament on October, 7".
"We are members of socially unprotected families. We have remained without allowances and dwelling promised to us by the mayor's office because of incorrect information provided by social agents", the participants of the action said.
They called for the opposition parties and NGOs to join them and support their demands, "Georgia Online" reports.
