Terror act prevented in Nalchik in the centre of residential area
Employees of the UVD (Interior Division) for the city of Nalchik have prevented a terror act, the Kabardino-Balkarian MIA has reported today. Simultaneously, two self-made explosive devices with a total capacity of up to one TNT (trotyl) kilogram were found in the heart of a residential district of the capital of the republic.
The dangerous findings were made by UVD employees in the residential area at the crossing of Idarov and Furmanov Streets. The first bomb was in a polymeric package and consisted of a TNT block, a Motorola radio station and an industrially made electric detonator. Metal screws, bolts and mounting dowels were used as striking elements.
The second explosive device, planted three meters away from the first one, was camouflaged with grass and looked like a metal container resembling a thermos. According to experts, its power was 500 grams of TNT.
