Female journalist from Sochi who covered Novikov's case receives threats
Svetlana Kravchenko, a journalist from Sochi, who was covering the case of Dmitri Novikov, former judge of the Khosta District Court of the Krasnodar Territory, accused of plundering "Olympic" lands, is now receiving threats.
She told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on August 26 she was telephoned by a man, who named himself to be a district militiaman "from another street," and demanded that she came to the militia, and when she refused, he threatened to break out the door of her flat.
Ms Kravchenko has also noted that the militiaman did not announce the official reason of her summon but told that she was accused of organizing a non-sanctioned rally.
As she stated, she never organized any rallies, but attended them as part of her professional duties - to cover events in mass media. "Attending events is my work as a journalist," she has noted.
According to her story, the alleged district militiaman initially refused to give his surname, but then he named himself as Murad Khvarzhev.
The OVD (Interior Division) of the Tsentralny District of Sochi confirmed that the district militiaman Khvarzhev is on their staff; however, they knew nothing about Kravchenko's case.
