In Dagestan, detainee Kurbanmagomedov is under pressure, relatives say
Traces of torture are quite visible on the body of Timur (Suleiman) Kurbanmagomedov, who was detained by law enforcers on August 20, said his brother Zurab Kurbanmagomedov, a resident of Makhachkala.
"Today, I was allowed to see my brother. Timur looked awfully: his arms are swollen, traces of burns are seen; his face is full of bruises. It is not excluded that such bruises are all over his body," said Zurab Kurbanmagomedov and added that use of special means, which suppress one's will, could not be excluded.
"I perfectly know my brother: Timur was a strong-willed and cheerful person. Here, I saw quite a different person - my brother was depressed; he met our arrival indifferently. Timur gave short answers to our questions; his face expressed no emotions," Zurab has stated.
The fact of beatings was confirmed by Timur's advocate Magomed Guchuchaliev: "No doubt, my client was tortured: traces of physical pressure are an indication. So far, he is accused of storing arms, but to find out from where they had appeared I need to talk to him face to face; however, I can't receive a permit for such meeting, which is a roughest violation of the law."
In the meantime, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt from reliable sources that Abubakr Rizvanov, director of the media centre "Khuda-Media", who was believed to disappear together with Timur Kurbanmagomedov, has already come back home.
