Carelessness of a restaurant's personnel became the cause of poisoning of over 40 residents of Yerevan

According to Grigor Bagyan, head of the State Inspection of food and veterinary security of Armenian Ministry of Agriculture, the results of food expertise in a Yerevan restaurant "Gegama" where on August, 19, 41 visitors got a food poisoning indicated that the cause of the incident has been carelessness of the enterprise's staff which resulted in a staphylococcus infection of the people.

"Caucasian Knot" has already reported that on August, 19, 41 people were taken to hospitals of Yerevan with symptoms of food poisoning after a wedding party in one of the restaurants of the Armenian capital. Now "Gegama" restaurant is open again.

"As a result of actions carried out by State Veterinary Inspection and a respective department of the Ministry of Public Health normal conditions have been provided in the restaurant and it is functioning again", Bagyan said on September, 17.

"Novosti-Armenia" reports laboratory research has discovered that staphylococcus aureus and enteropathogenic colon bacillus have become the cause of mass infection.
