Court dealing with attack on Nalchik refused to consider challenge of judges
The court, which is considering the events on October 13, 2005, in Nalchik, refused to consider the challenge of the court staff, petitioned on August 5 by a number of defendants and their advocates. The presiding judge Galina Gorislavskaya has stated that a challenge may be put forward only prior to start of litigation, and thereafter - only on the grounds unknown earlier.
Let us note here that today the court in Nalchik has resumes hearings after a three-week break.
On August 5, some of the defendants, in particular, Anzor Sasikov, Azamat Akhkubekov, Eduard Mironov and others, and their advocates, accused judge Gorislavskaya of prejudice and that in the course of the trial she had encroached on their right to defence by exhibiting personal interests in the outcomes of litigation; they challenged her personally, while defendant Zamaev challenged all the judges.
