Advocate of kidnapped resident of Dagestan refutes his client's surrender

Magomed Guchuchaliev, advocate of Timur (Suleiman) Kurbanmagomedov, who disappeared on August 20 in Makhachkala, reports that the MIA of Dagestan is misinforming the public by stating that his client voluntarily surrendered on August 28. According to the advocate, Kurbanmagomedov was kidnapped and tortured by power agents.

"Dozens of eyewitnesses saw how Timur and his friend Abubakr Ramazanov were kidnapped on August 20 in broad daylight by power agents. They were brought into the building of the MIA of Dagestan; and later their relatives knew for sure that the detainees were kept in the MIA building. Now, the guards of public order play innocence and assert that Timur had surrendered at three in the morning to the Novolak ROVD (District Interior Division)," the lawyer said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Guchuchaliev, today he was allowed to meet his client face-to-face; the advocate said that Kurbanmagomedov "confessed of three episodes of burning down the trading booths where alcohol was sold." According to Timur, submachine gun cartridges were found in his garage.

The advocate said that on the fact of his client's torture he requested that Asilder Ilyasov, inspector of the Sovietskiy ROVD of Makhachkala, who is supervising the Kurbanmagomedov's, appoint his medical examination to reveal traces of physical affection and define the gravity of bodily injuries.

"Timur's face and open parts of the body have visible traces of torture' although he is no longer tortured today, he is under constant psychological pressure," said the lawyer.

On August 28, Kurbanmagomedov's brother said, after seeing Timur in the militia, that he saw traces of torture on his body.
