Turkish ship "Dafne" leaves Abkhazia's territorial water

The Turkish cargo ship "Dafne", which stood idle for about two months near Sukhumi, has safely left Abkhazia. This was reported today by Valery Papba, head of the State Authority of the Republic of Abkhazia for Transports and Communications.

According to his story, on August 24 at 11:00 p.m., the ship left the territorial water of Abkhazia and set for its port of registry. "It became possible due to good will of the government of Abkhazia, which ordered to provide fuel, lubricants, potable water and foodstuffs to the ship," Mr Papba said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

To reach the nearest Turkish port, they needed about 10 tons of fuel and 200 litres of hydraulic oil. Meanwhile, the Turkish newspaper "Kara-Deniz" placed a publication with reference to relatives of Khyusnu Erdzhument Chelysh, 22, a crew member, where authorities of Abkhazia were blamed for not letting the ship back to Turkey.

According to Mr Chelysh himself (the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent managed to talk to him), "Turkish journalists wrote the opposite to what was in reality." "They wouldn't accuse the Turkish party of its inactivity; they chose to blame the Abkhazian one," said the seaman.
