Militia major and supposed militant killed in special operation in Grozny
In the course of an armed clash with a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF) in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny, a senior militia officer was lost and six more were wounded. This was reported by the Headquarters of the United Army Grouping in Northern Caucasus.
"The militant Khamzat Shemilev, who was in federal search, was detected in the Staropromyslovskiy District," said a source from the Headquarters. "During detention the bandit showed resistance. In the course of the skirmish, a militia major received fatal wounds; six more were wounded and hospitalized."
According to the source, Shemilev was in federal search for committing of a lot of terrorist crimes, the "Interfax-South" reports.
Ruslan Alkhanov, Interior Minister of Chechnya, has stated that an especially dangerous IAF member was liquidated in Grozny, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.
