Office and house of leader of "Circassian Congress" of Adygea searched
On August 18, agents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and FSB Department for the Republic of Adygea conducted searches in the house and office of Zaur Dzeukozhev, deputy chair of the Adyg Social Movement "Circassian Congress" and confiscated PC hard drives, documents relating activities of the "Circassian Congress" and several religious books.
Zaur Dzeukozhev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the searches were conducted based on the ruling of the Maikop City Court; however no copy of the ruling was given to him. "They gave me only the protocol of the search," he said.
According to his story, in November 2009 a resident of Maikop named Avteyev wrote an extremist article. Now, he is brought to criminal liability, and all who knew him, including Zaur Dzeukozhev, figure in the case as witnesses. Mr Dzeukozhev was told that the search had to do with this criminal case.
