Armenia: TV Companies "А1+" and "GALA" try to resume broadcasting

After eight years of suspension, the TV Company "А1+" will making everything possible to win objectivity of the National Commission on Radio and Television (NCRT) and will surely take part in the contest for the right to broadcast, as Mesrop Movsesyan, director of the Company, told journalists.

Vaan Khachatryan, director of the other TV Company non-controlled by the authorities, named "GALA", has also assured journalists that his company will also take part in the contest announced by the NCRT.

On July 20, the NCRT announced a contest on licensing of 18 TV Channels. From day 83 to day 93 after the date of announcement (that is, in mid-October) the Commission will accept applications from contest participants. And on day 150, the NCRT will define winners by open voting.
