Armenia: seven higher schools lose their licenses
Higher vocational training is completely suspended in seven and partially (in some specialities) in six higher schools of Armenia. The decision was made after the checks by the commission for licensing educational programmes.
Licenses of the Russian-Armenian Modern Humanities Institute, "Myud" Law Institute, "Ararat" University in the city of Armavir, "Ariya" International University, "Vanevan" Institute, "Kavendish" University and "Artashat" University in the city of Artashat were completely suspended.
Strict warnings were passed to the University of Management and Information Technologies of Yerevan, Yerevan Humanities Institute and "Institute of the Caucasus". The commission has obliged the higher schools to eliminate the defects revealed during the checks.
Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Sciences, has reminded that it was already the second decision of this sort passed this year. He assured that the checks aimed towards higher level and quality of education would become regular.
