Tkachov offers to move "Azov-City" gambling zone to Anapa

Alexander Tkachov, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has raised an issue on expediency of the present location of the "Azov-City" gambling zone - between the Rostov Region and the Krasnodar Territory.

In his opinion, the only presently existing gambling zone - the "Azov-City" - should be liquidated, as its remoteness from dwelling settlements attracts neither gamblers nor investors, and a new one should be opened in the city of Anapa.

Several weeks ago he sent a letter with this proposal to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, who then instructed the government to study the issue, the "Vedomosti" reports. The need to move the "Azov-City" gambling zone to the Black Sea was also expressed by some MPs at the Russian parliament, the "Kommersant" writes.

Investors are also waiting for the decision on removal with same interest but different moods. "We are in a shock and understand nothing," said Alexander Odintsov, Director General of the "Odis" Trading Group, which has rented 1.5 hectares in the Rostov section of "Azov-City". His company has already invested 12 million roubles into the gambling area.
