In Krasnodar Territory, huge jams paralyse "Don" Highway
In the Krasnodar Territory, the Federal Highway "Don", running to the Black Sea shore, is paralysed by huge traffic jams. Within one day the road passes some 80-100 thousand cars, more than six-fold throughput of this highway.
Jams appear mainly on Fridays-Sundays, when residents of the south of Russia, for example, Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don, move to the sea shore to spend their weekends there.
Many experts believe that another reason of the increase traffic flow in the southern direction is in the conflagrations covering the central Russia, the "RUS-auto.net" reports.
For many Russians the Federal Highway "Don" is the shortest way to the sea, but when some fifteen kilometres are left to the destination, the traffic almost stops, the "Vesti" information TV channel reports. Cars without air conditioners turn to mobile saunas. Drivers exhausted by many-hour jamming try to squeeze along the roadside, but it results only in more accidents.
