Tbilisi wants to host UEFA's Europe League final match in 2012 or 2013
President of the UEFA Michel Platini, who visited the capital of Georgia, gave particular recommendations to the government, so that Tbilisi could host the Europe League final match in 2012 or 2013.
The UEFA leader came to Tbilisi on August 10 and acquainted the Georgian party with the main requirements put forward by the UEFA to organizers of European tournaments, the "Echo of the Caucasus" Radio reports.
First of all, it is necessary to ensure high throughput of the airport, plenty of modern comfortable hotels and stadiums with duly developed infrastructure. The Mayor of Tbilisi finds these UEFA's requirements quite achievable.
"I didn't know that the government of Georgia is so interested in hosting the Europe League final in Tbilisi, and I'm ready to strain my efforts towards it," the "Interfax" quotes Mr Platini as saying.
