Nasiba Asvarova, Rumil Begeyev's wife, said today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the decision to surrender was made as a result of long negotiations with special agencies. "My husband believes to be innocent; therefore, he decided: let the court reveal the truth."
She explained that her husband "addressed the FSB, as he was afraid of possible pressure by the MIA and doubted the objectivity of investigation conducted by the militia."
The law enforcement bodies refrained from comments before the court verdict on the detainee's evidences by referring to the secrecy of the investigation.
