Alkhan-Yurt: four students were detained

On November 4, 2003 in the village of Alkhan-Yurt, Chechnya's Urus-Martan district, Russian security agents, jointly with officers of Chechen Interior Ministry, arbitrary detained and took in an unknown direction four residents of this village. Ayub Yakhyayev, 1986, Bislan Israilov, 1985, Yusup Isaev, 1985, and Anzor Magomedov, 1985, who are students of different institutions of higher education of Grozny, were detained in their houses early in the morning.

There is unchecked information that several locals - also students - were detained in a similar way in the villages of Gekhi and Shalazhi of the same district.

  • Chechen advocate Timur Idalov requests clarification from court

    Lawyer Timur Idalov, sentenced for threatening a public prosecutor, appealed to the judge of the Khimki City Court, pointing out the violation of the norms of criminal procedure law in the decisions on his case. Because of the above-mentioned violations, as Timur Idalov claims, he was unlawfully left in a SIZO (pre-trial prison).
