Frogs from Georgia are increasingly popular in Europe

Europe experiences a great demand for frogs exported from Georgia. In the opinion of gourmets, these amphibians from Georgian are superior in taste than frogs from other countries.

As reported by the Department of Statistics of Georgia, in January-June the country exported 60 kg of froggy legs to the total cost of 497.3 US dollars. In 2009, the export made - 96 kg to the sum of 791 dollars.

Georgia also exports live frogs. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2009, 250,000 frogs with the gross weight of 4175 kg were exported to the total sum of 14,612 dollars, the "Business Georgia" reports.

So far, Georgia is exporting frogs to France only; however, should the increased demand for this product persist, exports to other countries are not excluded, the "GHN" reports.
