Killer of Vladikavkaz mayor convicted in North Ossetia

Today, the Court of North Ossetia has passed a verdict of guilty to Inal Ostaev, the killer of the mayor of Vladikavkaz Vitaly Karaev, having sentenced him to 19 years in prison. This was reported by the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation.

As established by the investigation, Ostaev, being a member of a grouping, committed a murder of the mayor of the city of Vladikavkaz and was also an accomplice in the murder of the division head of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia and his son - former vice-premier of the republic.

Besides, Ostaev was found guilty of a murder attempt of the head of the office of President of North Ossetia and other grave crimes, the "Interfax" reports.

The court took into account the fact that defendant Ostaev pled guilty and actively cooperated with the investigation in exposing his accomplices and sentenced him to 19 years in a high security colony, the "Rosbalt" reports.
